A List of Stuff You Need In Order To Survive Outdoors
For individuals who find it a hobby to go out camping, hiking, or trekking in far away and isolated places where the traditional conveniences of living aren’t present, it is always a necessity to bring with them some survival gear. Now the question is what should comprise this kit?
1 – Knife
When you’re camping and you don’t bring with you a knife as part of your outdoor survival gear, then you’re like lacking one hand. You should understand that a knife isn’t just for use in the kitchen because it also is an essential part of your survival gear. Well, the biggest reason why you must not go out there without arming yourself with a knife is because there are specific things it can do that no other outdoor survival gear can. This includes cutting rope, opening cans, building a shelter, preparing food, and cutting cloth and bandages.
2 – Rope
There’s no denying that rope is an essential part of any type of DIY survival gear. The fact is it almost is impossible to survive out there in a remote place or in the wild if you don’t have a rope with you or if you don’t know how to make one. Rope is used for things like building shelter, climbing, holding things together, lashing poles, fishing, making animal traps, and for attachment purposes.
3 – Water Bottle
Quite frankly, this one does not really need some explanation. Anyway, a normal person can survive days even without food, so long as there is water. That’s why if you plan on surviving out there, you must endure bringing with you a water bottle or any other container that can store water for drinking. Know that not all water found outdoors is ideal for drinking.
4 – Equipment for Signaling
Whenever you find yourself in a survival situation while camping in an isolated and remote area, one of your priorities is to find a way to make contact with other people. The thing is if you let several days pass without doing something to make contact, your chances of being rescued will be decreased significantly. For you to be sure you have the ability to contact people for a possible rescue, you have to always bring with you a signaling device. A flashlight, mirror, whistle, or any other device that can produce either light or sound will be of great value. You just can forget bringing along a signaling equipment since it’s an essential tactical survival gear.
Aside from those four, there still are so many essential survival things you must bring with you if you want to be sure you’re safe out there, even in the middle of the most challenging survival situations.
